Presbyterian Church Records Church Unspecified Restricted As custodian of the registers the Presbyterian Church asserts its right to restrict the publication of information contained in the registers. As such it is required to obtain permission from the Presbyterian Church in all cases before transcribing or publishing records from their registers. The individual congregation that holds the register in question needs to be contacted for permission.
Church of Ireland Baptisms and Burials before 1871 State Unspecified Restricted Church of Ireland baptism and burial registers before 1871 are property of the state and administered by the National Archives. Permission should be sought from the National Archives prior to publication. Publications must acknowledge the National Archives of Ireland and contain correct citation of the Church Material that is used. The National Archives can be contacted for permission at mail@nationalarchives.ie.
Church of Ireland Marriages before 1845 State Unspecified Restricted Church of Ireland marriage registers before 1845 are property of the state and administered by the National Archives. Permission should be sought from the National Archives prior to publication. Church of Ireland Marriages from 1922 and and before 2004 (N.Ireland) GRONI Unspecified Restricted Church of Ireland marriage registers from 1922 until before 2004 are administered by the General Register Office (Northern Ireland)
Church of Ireland Baptisms and Burials from 1871 RCB Unspecified Restricted after 1900 Church of Ireland Baptisms and Burial registers from 1871 onwards are vested in the Representative Church Body and administered by the RCB Library. The Constitution of the Church of Ireland recognises a right of public access to these registers. It is not permitted to publish images from the registers after 1900. There is no impediment to providing information from these registers in spreadsheet form as long as the entry does not violate the privacy of the living or the next generation. Children live on average only 25 years after the death of their parents, and on only rare occasions 50 years or more. Therefore burial records more than 50 years old would reasonably comply with this stipulation. The average life expectancy is 80 years and therefore baptism records more than 105 years ago would generally comply with this stipulation. The RCBL can be contacted at library@ireland.anglican.org.
